Enigmatic Swedish producers SHXCXCHCXSH follow up August’s SHULULULU EP with a new full-length on their own Rösten label. The title of OUFOUFOF is to be read onomatopoeically. Rather than attempting to pull the sonics of club music apart as they have done on previous records, their fourth LP finds them lock into one rhythmic idea for the duration of each track. Not that they’re phoning it in, mind - the likes of ‘UUOUUOUU’ are caustic visions of techno.

Another slab of caps lock post-industrial drones and saturated rhythm textures from Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH. That’s the sound all the bottles make when I chuck them into glass recycling. The track titles are ‘SHULULULU’, ‘SHUDUDUDU’, ‘SHUMUMUMU’ and so forth. Occasionally they let a bit of melody in, but for the most part it’s a fabric of undistracted beats.

Rosten 2

The wonderfully named SHXCXCHCXSH make techno as pretty as the contents of a gutter, their new 12" on Rösten following up the first in what is likely to be a series of churning rythmic maladies. If their Avian release SsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSs was anything to go on, this will be essential listening for lovers of noisy dancing.

Linear S Decoded

Following on from last year's 'STRGTHS', Sweden's shadowy and unpronounceable electronic duo SHXCXCHCXSH are back with another LP of their blurred futuristic techno. Retreating a little from the aggressive beatmaking of their debut, they're placing more focus on the dark ethereal drones and woozy synthscapes this time around.
