Saint Etienne
A Glimpse of Stocking

Christmas music from Saint Etienne! It seems that every year or two a beloved indieish band steps up to the festive mark with a fun festive album (tbt Low), and in 2016 it’s Saint Etienne! A mixture of originals and covers (such as Chris Rea’s ‘Driving Home For Christmas’), some new and some taken from rare old fan club releases. A Glimpse Of Stocking is out via the Foreign Office.

Kites

A very welcome addendum to Sarah Cracknell’s recent solo album Red Kites. This mini-album Kites allows the lushly cinematic instrumental tracks from that album to really shine, with Cracknell’s lead vocals removed but some extra instruments and gospel vocals added in, to soup up the delicious mix. 10” on Cherry Red.

Take The Silver

Take The Silver is the second single from Sarah Cracknell’s Red Kite album. Take The Silver draws its influence from ‘60s pop, similar to her band Saint Etienne, but without the dance influence. The limited edition 7” is backed with the exclusive cut Sleepytown. Packaged in a die-cut sleeve with a unique postcard.

Sarah Cracknell
Nothing Left To Talk About

7” vinyl on Cherry Red. Leading single from Sarah Cracknell’s (Lead singer from Saint Etienne) new solo album Red Kite. Sharing vocal duties with Nicky Wire from Manic Street Preachers. A push away from the dancey area of Saint Etienne, it’s a look back to 60’s era pop music, it’s love filled, back garden stuff.

Sarah Cracknell
Red Kite

On CD or V12” vinyl on Cherry Red. Sarah Cracknell has gone solo from Saint Etienne  to give us her debut on Red Kite. Don’t expect Etienne vibes here though, it looks much further back past dance music, and definitely has 60’s pop pumping at the heart of it. Summery and wistful, the leading single from it features Nicky Wire from the Manic Street Preachers.
