Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova
Once - Music from the Motion Picture

Back in 2006, the Frames leader Glen Hansard starred as a grizzled street musician who stalked and preyed on a young Czech woman. Rather than calling the police, she fell for him and the remainder was a heartfelt Irish romantic musical drama. Now you can get all the music from the film which will leave you teary-eyed as proof that obsessive behaviour can sometimes pay dividends.

Glen Hansard
This Wild Willing

This particular Norman Records™ description writer initially read the title of Glen Hansard’s new LP as This Wild Willy, which would have really been something if it were true. It’s not though - it’s called This Wild Willing and it’s another set of well-heeled, classic-sounding rock and folk tunes from the Once actor. Among this run of Van Morrison-isms we get the occasional sky-scraping post-rock atmosphere, which is cool. Free willy.

Between Two Shores

If the name Glen Hansard sounds familiar, odds are you’re a fan of The Commitments which he starred in back in 1991 or a fan of his band the Frames. In 2018 he’s releasing Between Two Shores, a new solo album of lushly self-produced and heart-wrenching folk with the wonderful Anti-. Available on CD, black vinyl, or limited transparent blue and gold vinyl.

A Season On The Line

The actor man who wants to be a musician trope is epitomised no better than in Glen Hansard, who has released some pleasant Americana records and deftly tributed the music of Jason Molina like no other. This is an actual new EP of material to follow on from 'Didn't He Ramble', tied into RSD for ease, probably, featuring two live "favourites" that now worm their way into an official release.

Didn't He Ramble

Solo-projects come and go, but Glen Hansard keeps coming back. While taking a break from The Frames and The Swell Season, he has recorded his second full-length Didn’t He Ramble. Featuring collaborations with Sam Bean and Sam Amidon, his new album is sure to be the cream of this year’s Irish folk crop.

It Was Triumph We Once ProposedÂ… Songs of Jason Molina

‘It Was Triumph We Once Proposed…Songs of Jason Molina’ is a memorial album by former Swell Season frontman, crooner/songwriter Glen Hansard, in tribute to his friend Jason Molina. The tribute features some of the musicians who played on Molina’s 2003 ‘Magnolia Electric Co’ album. Hansard commits his guitar playing with reverence to the powerful organ driven original material.
