Mark Leckey Vinyl, CD & tapes from this artist at Norman Records
10" from Turner Prize winning artist Mark Leckey. For his 2017 exhibition Bridge Age Regression, Leckey created a soundtrack called Exorcism of the Bridge@Eastham Rake. The song is an occult ceremony conducted by a post-punch band in the middle of a warehouse rave. B-side features a remix from Evian Christ. Out demons, out!
Mark Leckey’s present film installation is Dream English Kid 1964 - 1999AD, and the audio component is strong enough to warrant release on its own, following the PAN issuing of his Hecker collaboration. The essential intention is to reconstruct the life of young Leckey entirely through online archive footage: Youtube and the like. 500 vinyl copies on The Death Of Rave.
Florian Hecker is described as a “German sound experimentalist” while Mark Leckey is “a multidisciplinary artist” but he might be better known as the winner of 2008’s Turner Prize. They originally presented Sound Voice Chimera at Tate Modern in an event called Push and Pull. Expect arty sound exploration from the two 17 minute long tracks that take up one side of the vinyl LP each.
