Pye Corner Audio Vinyl, CD & tapes by Pye Corner Audio at Norman Records

Pye Corner Audio is music for a ghost rave. Hauntology as house party, he comes from a league of gloomy techno dads who make beatwork in service of dusty libraries and Eldritch horror stories. He's absolutely adored by Norman Records bossman Phil, wh...read more »

Pye Corner Audio
Hollow Earth

Not to be confused with 2017 EP Where Things Are Hollow (which is really good, by the way), here we have another new LP from Pye Corner Audio entitled Hollow Earth. The third album Martin Jenkins has done for Ghost Box as PCA sees him updating the sound of some of the label’s classic artists. The quixotic electronica of The Focus Group and The Advisory Circle is beefed up with a little bit of techno edge by Pye Corner Audio here.

Pye Corner Audio
The Spiral

Another missive from the Head Technician of Pye Corner Audio, who's still beavering away with the sort of synth patterns that sound like they should soundtrack an 80s action movie. Bloopy sci-fi synth that is remarkable sought after despite it not being the right decade anymore. Out on Death Waltz Originals and sure to go fast.

Pye Corner Audio
Where Things Are Hollow

Here's another four tracker from the self styled 'Head Technician' Martin Jenkins. Here he diverts his dystopian vision towards emotive techno with soaring pads and slow pulsating beats. Reminiscent of works by John Carpenter and Delia Derbyshire, this is bound to be another one that flies straight off our shelves.

Pye Corner Audio / Silent Servant / Not Waving

On track per artist on this essential dance floor collision of three of the finest minds in electronic music. Pye Corner Audio are known for being excellent with synths, Not Waving makes very good robo funk and Silent Servant finishes things off with some glistening dramatic techno moves. You need this.

Pye Corner Audio
Stasis

Synth expert Martin Jenkins rolls another one out as Pye Corner Audio. This is his second LP on Ghost Box and in a way it is a sequel to 2012's 'Sleep Games'. What you can be sure of is massive big old fashioned synth sounds that reference all the greats including Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and John Carpenter.

Head Technician (Pye Corner Audio)
Profane Architecture

Not Waving’s Ecstatic Records (Sterile Hand, Jay Glass Dubs) drops the second LP from Head Technician, an artist you may know better as Pye Corner Audio. Profane Architecture is more rough-and-ready than the stuff Martin Jenkins makes as PCA, with gear limited to a drum machine and a couple of synths. It has a retrograde bleep ‘n bass flavour that wouldn’t sound out of place had it dropped via Central Processing Unit.

Pye Corner Audio
Half-Light (Prowler Remixed)

Pye Corner Audio’s 2015 album was lorded over, and quite rightly so, and now it’s been ripped apart and issued as a remix package. With contributions from Clesse (Jon Brooks of Hintermass), Cloudface, Silent Servant of Sandwell Distict collective, and Not Waving. Bookended by two brand new originals from Pye Corner Audio.

Pye Corner Audio
Sleep Games

Here is a much-needed vinyl re-press of Pye Corner Audio's 2012 era opus on Ghost Box. This is a supremely eerie batch of warming nostalgia-synth from the self styled Head Technician. Influenced by John Carpenter and Italo horror films, this is a dreamy odyssey of analogue synths with fragments of underground techno.

SS MD / Pye Corner Audio
Issue No. Twenty-Two

You'll want this. It's a very limited split 12" between everyone's favourite Head Technician Pye Corner Audio who contributes three brand new tracks and Silent Servant & Marcel Dettmann who hook up together as SS & MD to provide one side long track. Out on Jealous God.  Clear vinyl all gone now so don't get hopes up for that.

Martin Jenkins
Dance Cave

Martyn Jenkins needs no introduction but I'm going to do so anyway as we want to sell some of these. Ok so it's the Pye Corner Audio bloke. Hopefully that's shifted a few. Normally known for his hugely sought after nostalgic synth work, this is his first foray into techno. US import so it's very pricey but a must have for completists.

Pye Corner Audio / Dalhous
Run for the Shadows EP

The Run For The Shadows EP is a split between Dalhous and Pye Audio Corner, each providing a pair of new tracks. Pye is orientated towards dark dancefloors, while Dalhous produce real songs. Though both artists, it must be said, have an incredible ear for textures you could almost reach out and touch. The 12” is released by Lapsus Records.

Pye Corner Audio
Prowler

Our Head Technician returns with more results from his laboratory controlled experiments. This time it's a seven track album on More Than Human (the label that brought you Jon Brooks 'Walberswick'). Limited to 500 copies this is not going to be found in all record stores so you want to get in quick if you want to secure your copy. Early previews have the technician prowling around in eerie beatless acidy squelsh.

Pye Corner Audio & Faten Kanaan
The Darkest Wave

Right then here is a biggie. A 7" collaboration between label mates Pye Corner Audio and Faten Kanaan on the increasingly collectible and high profile Polytechnic Youth imprint. The A side features Kanaan's New York narrative over some ice cool synths with a John Carpenter/Umberto feel. Over on the flip Pye Corner Audio offer a stripped down piece  in keeping with the label's minimal synth aesthetic.  Grab one now as this will soon sell out.

Pye Corner Audio
Other Voices 05

Two smashing sides of classic retro-futurist Ghost Box action here from Pye Corner Audio. Other Voices 05 provides another vibing insight into the imagined past-world that exists in the collective mind of Ghost Box; assisted on the B-side by Belbury Poly. All vintage synth-chime working up and down. 7” vinyl single.

Stars Shine Like Eyes / Quasar ll

Death Waltz and Pye Corner Audio. Flourescent Orange Vinyl and beautifully designed sleeve art. And you still haven't ordered it yet? This is essential for fans of John Carpenter, sci-fi soundtracks, dystopian fantasies and just good electronic music. Two tracks of future, past and present inspired cosmic music from the ever excellent Head Technician. Don't sleep on this, the latest in the Originals line from Death Waltz.

Pye Corner Audio
The Black Mist EP

Front & Follow, in collaboration with The Outer Church, present a stunning new EP from Pye Corner Audio – The Black Mist EP. The EP features an extended mix of the title track Black Mist (the original featured on last year’s Outer Church compilation), new track Bulk Erase and a remix of Black Mist by fellow OC collaborators Old Apparatus.Pye Corner Audio is the audio recovery project of the Head Technician, a mysterious and studious figure who has developed the ability to travel sideways through time and space via a) the use of rewired analogue recording equipment and b) the judicious application of moss and fog. Alongside the self-released Black Mill Tapes research series (recently collected on vinyl and CD by Type Records), the Head Technician has released music through Dekorder, Type, The Tapeworm and Boomkat Editions, not to mention a full-length album, Sleep Games, on Ghost Box. Old Apparatus were specially selected by the Head Technician to remix Black Mist, and have turned in a distressed deconstruction in keeping with their rusted iron aesthetic. A collective of shady individuals most often found muttering obscure invocations in the low-rent drinking dens of North East London, their stubbornly uncategorisable sound debuted in 2011 with a hissing, creaking self-titled 12” on Mala’s esteemed Deep MEDi label.
