Pye Corner Audio is music for a ghost rave. Hauntology as house party, he comes from a league of gloomy techno dads who make beatwork in service of dusty libraries and Eldritch horror stories. He's absolutely adored by Norman Records bossman Phil, who thinks his music stands head and shoulders above the already stellar efforts of labels Ghost Box and Death Waltz.
Also known by his human alias Martin Jenkins, Pye Corner Audio has enjoyed comparisons far and wide to artists including Andy Stott (a techno brutalist if ever there was one) and Boards of Canada (the old twinkle-toes sci-fi producers). It's proof of his ability to reroute retro sounds as futurism, to make rich something once shrouded in attic dirt. His record Sleep Games may have stood out as a high point -- offering an adventurous deluge of Eurodisco, rave and John Carpenter -- but he's since made stellar and more focused records like Stasis.
In fact, it feels like Pye Corner Audio is always releasing music, enlisted by yet another label to shroud us in synth shadows. Fans of Not Waving, Silent Servant and a general feeling of impending doom ought to listen to Pye Corner Audio; he's at the heart of the haunt.

Spooky dusty techno haunt music that sounds well old times! I feel like I'm in a library from the future on an industrial es...view item
Here's another four tracker from the self styled 'Head Technician' Martin Jenkins. Here he diverts his dystopian vision towards emotive techno with soaring pads and slow pulsating beats. Reminiscent of works by John Carpenter and Delia Derbyshire, this is bound to be another one that flies straight off our shelv...view item
Here Mr Corner Audio is, making the music that’s like one of those Death Waltz 80s soundtrack records but was made the other day in his bedroom with a kick drum and some old synths. It seems that DW and Ghost Box have firmly got him under their wings now, and he’s thoroughly embraced the old-skool aesthetic that would look mighty sma...view item
Here's the Pye Corner Audio lad stepping away from his usual nostalgic stuff to give us an EP of techno type sounds. He builds 'Dance Cave' up nicely with some burbling synths adding in bits and bats of percussion as if he's running along a path and things are sticking to him as he goes along. Midway through he adds in the sort of haunting synth...view item
