Daniel Bachman
The Morning Star

Three Lobed Recordings (Hiss Golden Messenger, Six Organs Of Admittance) release a new LP from the highly impressive Daniel Bachman. The Morning Star is an evocative mix of psychedelic organ drones, American folk/blues guitar and found sounds. As the low rumbles slowly unspool his artfully shonky six-string playing often stumbles upon moments of profound beauty. Think Richard Dawson, Ian William Craig and Panda Bear.

Daniel Bachman (2014)

Daniel Bachman describes his musical style as 'psychedelic appalachia'. This LP was mainly home-recorded (at times alone, at times with assistance from various friends) and is suitably sparse and atmospheric. Based in Virginia, this 22-year-old guitarist has been touring and recording since he was 17. Known for his limited releases, there are only 250 copies of this so don't hang about. It comes in a lovely screened book tape bound sleeve.

Daniel Bachman
River

Daniel Bachman settles into his good old chair, and lays out another record of solo acoustic guitar. It takes impressive ability to take such an object and make it sound fresh again, but Bachman has that ability, and River wends its way through a number of beautiful tunes old and new. Very nice. On Three Lobed Recordings.

Daniel Bachman (2016)

Daniel Bachman is a 26 year old guitarist from Virginia. He has been regarded as somewhat of prodigy making waves with his technical and compositional chops for some years now. He has been recording since 2011 and has worked with Ryley Walker. His new self-titled album is most complete work yet showcases his ability as a guitarist, augmenting his acoustic guitar with elements of drone and field recordings.

Daniel Bachman
Miscellaneous Ephemera and Other Bullshit

Here, Daniel Bachman picks up his acoustic guitar (and puts down his burger and fries, judging by the cover art) and jams out some gorgeously detailed Fahey-esque instrumentals, sometimes accompanying himself with a touch of vocals: if you’re luck, throat-singing. Miscellaneous Ephemera and Other Bullshit is on Feeding Tube.

Daniel Bachman
Grey-Black-Green

Taking us way back when with his American primitive acoustic style, Daniel Bachman is an expert guitarist, most notable for his picking abilities and banjo prowess. Mixing technique with beautiful folk traditions, he presents to us the first vinyl pressing of 2011's 'Grey-Black'Green', a perfect showcase of his commitment to interrogating his guitar until he gets precisely what he's looking for. There's plenty of improvisation in Bachman's work, but his knowledge of the guitar is vast enough to make it compelling.
