Jimi Bazzouka
Volume 5

Jimi Bazzouka brings us Volume 5 on Crowdspacer. The 12” vinyl contains four tracks of intricate, building dance music with a dark ‘80s edge. Each track has a dark underbelly of thudding percussion, gurgling samples or intermittent rhythms but each is as danceable as the last - with Countryman Pt. 2’s Brazilian percussion being a particular highlight.

Joakim x Superpitcher
On The Beach Remixes

Superpitcher remixed Joakin’s cover of Neil Young’s On The Beach three years ago now, reworked into a lush, rolling bassline propelled, ambient techno track, and everybody lapped it up. Now, as a joint Crowdspacer / Hippie Dance release it’s repackaged with a huge 20 minute ambient mix so you can truly lay back and sip it all in.

French polymath Joakim dabbles in pretty much everything - running his label Tigersushi, designing the artwork, producing for bands (!!!, Zombie Zombie), remixing Robyn, Todd Terje amongst others, fashion design and contemporary art. Now he returns to his solo leftfield electro-pop productions with his sixth full length album Samurai. Quirky, catchy and unforgettable.

Edits Vol. 4

More weird house edits and sly disco variations from Jimi Bazzouka and the Crowdspacer label. Edits Vol. 4 on vinyl 12” borrows the sounds of the 1980s Japanese new wave and turns them into surreal bangers and eccentric floorfillers, all dedicated to the life and work of genius Ryuichi Sakamoto.

On The Beach

Some down beat rhythms from Joakim. On The Beach is the four tracker from the Parisian producer. Having a go at the Neil Young track, our Joakim leaves the tempo alone but mutates the instrumentation into a blend of subs, synths and robotised vocals, like a downbeat downer Daft Punk Tron vibe. With remixes from CFCF and Principles of Geometry, pick it up on 12" vinyl from Because.
