Delia Derbyshire & Martin Hannett
The Synth and Electronic Recording Exchange

A fascinating release for electronic music buffs and for those with even a fleeting interest in the history of electronic pop, The Synth and Electronic Recording Exchange showcases 21 untitled tracks constructed by pioneering punk producer Martin Hannett (behind the two iconic Joy Division albums) and which he worked on with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s Delia Derbyshire over the course of most of a decade. Originally supposed to be released in the mid-Eighties, it was shelved by Hannett, and now is presented on the Ozit Dandelion on double vinyl in the order he intended it.

Martin Hannett & Steve Hopkins
All Sorts Of Heroes

Pressed for the first time on vinyl this is a lost experiment by legendary Factory producer Martin Hannett and Invisible Girls Steve Hopkins.  Initially soundtracking a short film which never saw the light of day this is a bass heavy piece of cartoon funk/disco which draws parallels with Hannett's work with ESG. Also we are assured that this IS Martin Hannett this time. Hi Ozit Dandelion.

Martin Hannett
Homage to Delia Derbyshire

Martin Hannett is the producer who did all your favourite Manchester post-punk records, but check this out: he also created his own work. Homage to Delia Derbyshire is unreleased material from 1982, made with various synths and electronics. This music feels very intimate and personal, partly because it was not made with public release in mind. Really interesting stuff, released at last by Ozit Dandelion.

Martin Hannett & Steve Hopkins
The Invisible Girls

The Invisible Girls is a collaborative effort by Steve Hopkins and Martin Hannett who have both weaved their way in and out of the brilliance of many different bands, Hannett producing for the likes of New Order where Hopkins has helped perform for some classic records. Together they actually make some music, and these recently unearthed recordings show that in abundance.
