Soft Kill Vinyl, CD & tapes from this artist at Norman Records
If you ever feel like you could do with some sad reading you could do worse than the press release for Soft Kill's Saviour. Even without reading it there is obviously sadness behind this music. Post-punk that's as down as the genre's ever been, with vocals whose distance is only amplified by being hidden in the mix. On Profound Lore.
Made up with members of Blessure Grave, Soft Kill turn the post punk wheel harder than most. With washy guitars and vocals that glisten with distant synthesizers on the back of rolling basslines and percussion. With albums on Profound Lore and Funeral Party they return with a bonus 7 inch from their Heresy album session.
This one's for Interpol fans who want it a little rougher and grittier. Post punk with a morose indie twist. Soft Kill’s second album is a mood soaked clean chord plucking, chugging bassline affair, drawn out to cinematic proportions. Features members of WAMPIRE, Magick Daggers and Blessure Grave.
With personnel drawn from Chromatics, Blessure Grave, Warm Hands and Get Hustle, Soft Kill really have the credentials for making high-end post-punk. Choke is their third album, and has a moody '80s shimmer all around the production. They even have a guest vocal from Mark Burgess (Chameleons). Out on the Profound Lore label.
