He describes it as a mix between Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and 40s French Jazz. It was produced by Chris Seefried (Counting Crows, Lana Del Rey, Joseph Arthur) who also co-wrote some tracks.

Manic Revalations

Hello Mrs LaFarge  - is your Pokey in? It really is quite some name but that hasn’t stopped the Poke-meister from forging a decent career as an old fashioned songwriter just sayin; what he’s see in’, adding horns to it and sounding something like Graham Parker and the Rumour or maybe a hint of Dexys. Good solid fun.

Pokey LaFarge
Something In The Water

Pokey LaFarge steps into the present with a sound firmly routed in the past, pulling in ragtime, country and a dash of the blues. Something In The Water would be the perfect album for the listener who has already exhausted the back-catalogue of traditional American song but still wants that feel. On Rounder.
