Arctic Monkeys
Suck It And See

7” vinyl re-issue of ‘Suck It And See’, the title track and third single taken from Arctic Monkeys’ 2011 album of the same name. Unusually, its awesome B-side ‘Evil Twin’ performed better in the UK charts than the main feature, reaching no.114 in comparison to ‘Suck It And See’ at no.149.

Arctic Monkeys
The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala

The oddly titled The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala was a track taken from Arctic Monkeys fourth album Suck It and See. It's a melodic treat of a song on an album that has sometimes been accused of being too hard edged. Lots of lyrical twists and turns and stadium-ready rock here. The only downside is that the B side features Miles Kane.

Submarine (Original Songs)

Submarine was the debut film from actor and director Richard Ayoade. The coming of age drama was a perfect vehicle for a soundtrack by Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner. Showcasing a more mature and reflective side to his songwriting, these six mostly acoustic offerings point the way towards his future work as part of the Last Shadow Puppets. As always lyrically dextrous, this is an overlooked but essential part of his back catalogue.

Arctic Monkeys
Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino

The long-awaited return of those indie rock archetypes Arctic Monkeys. Five years after 2013’s AM, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino is the next chapter in their journey from dishevelled Sheffield boys of the noughties to slick and swaggering Americanised rock gang. Or, how Alex Turner went from scruffy to professional.

The Last Shadow Puppets
Everything You've Come To Expect

The Last Shadow Puppets was what we thought a one off collaboration between Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane but now they are back all grown up with a second album. While their debut was excellent piece of cinematic pop, lead single here "Bad Habits' is a growling piece of rawk. Early indications say 'expansive' - we'll see about that but in any case this will be much sought after, particularly the indies-only edition with a bonus 7".

Arctic Monkeys
My Propeller

My Propeller was initially taken from the Arctic Monkeys third album Humbug. It showcases the darker sound of the album as the Sheffield scamps started to grow up and explore more mature territories. What it lacks in tunefulness it makes up in a kind of brooding intensity. 7" re-press on Domino with Joining the Dots on t'other side.

Arctic Monkeys
When The Sun Goes Down

Sensibly, Domino have been quietly re-pressing some of the Arctic Monkeys early singles for all you AM nuts out there. When the Sun Goes Down was the second single to be taken from their legendary debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. A tale of prostitution in their hometown of Sheffield, it's an early example of Alex Turner's unique lyrical prowess. On 7" backed with Stickin' To The Floor.
