Alva Noto & Anne-James Chaton
Alphabet

German electronic musician Alvo Noto is no stranger to collaborations, having worked with the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Blixa Bargeld. He has also previously collaborated with Anne James-Chaton before. The album, Alphabet, is inspired by the encyclopedia of etymology compiled by Isidore of Seville, the city’s archbishop, some 1500 years ago.

Tout Ce Que Je Sais

Tout Ce Que Je Sais captures a live recording by experimental poet Anne-James Chaton and improvising guitarist Andy Moor (primarily of The Ex), further exploring their long-running duo collaboration in the Carreau du Temple in Paris. The pieces here engage with controversial literary greats like the Marquis De Sade and William Burroughs. CD and LP release on Unsounds.

Transfer

Here we have Andy Moor - he of The Ex, among other things - teaming up with French sound artist Anne-James Chaton for a series of spoken word experiments. Across Transfer strange spools of sound are conjured from electric guitars, drum machines, synthesisers and samples. These curious soundscapes provide a perfect foil for the seductively enigmatic poetry above them.
