Well well well, a lovely bit of reissue this. 1982’s ‘Garlands’ is a crucial part of the Cocteau Twins tale. For one, the group’s debut album is the only one that they made with a full-time bassist (Will Heggie), something which makes it a curious outlier in the band discography. For two, ‘Garlands’ shows a band getting to grips with a sound that they sense is something new and exciting - and as we all know, their pioneering dream pop style would only increase with influence as their career wore on. This new edition of ‘Garlands’ has been remastered from the original analog tapes.
