Versions EP

Shitego's EP 'Versions' is a testament to casting off the shackles of modern production methods, all click-tracks and MIDI, in order to create something organic and real. Compare the coarse, crayon sketch on the cover to other modern jazz records' hyper-digital renders and you may get a sense of this record's immediacy. FFO Vulfpeck and Sons of Kemet.

As the snow flies on a cold and grey Chicago mornin', a poor little baby child is born - in Shigeto. That’s pretty much where the similarities with Elvis end for the Detroit artist, mind. On Weighted, Shigeto comes through with a selection of classic Midwest club tackle. ‘Fight Club’ and ‘Ooh Ooh’ are terse 808 techno, while the Ian Fink-featuring ‘The Line Up’ is closer to Moodymann’s Mahogani Music. Motor city royalty Andres rounds the EP out with a remix.

The New Monday

Detroit producer Shigeto returns to Ghostly International with his fourth full length album The New Monday. After numerous releases experimenting with abstracted downtempo hip hop glitching, Shigeto has looked closer to home and drawn on a more dance floor focus, because, Detroit. Features collaborations with ZelooperZ, Kaleena Zanders and Silas Green

Intermission is the new EP by Shigeto. The electronic musician from Detroit, aka Zach Saginaw, has been working on a veritable plethora of projects since his sophomore album No Better Time Than Now dropped in 2013. From adding his special blend of electronics to a jazz quartet to recording with rappers from his hometown. Currently he’s not sure where his musical journey will take him. Intermission is dynamic, diverse and exciting. It also serves as a transitional work between where he’s been and where he’s going..
