J-E-T-S
ZOOSPA

Here come the warm J-E-T-S. This is a new team-up between serial club botherers Machinedrum and Jimmy Edgar, and on their wackily-named first LP ZOOSPA the pair use their know-how to create thick, metallic-sounding beats. There’s not really one style you can pin down here - rather, J-E-T-S have that kind of mish-mash R ‘n’ B/hip-hop/EDM sound that works so well for Hudson Mohawke. ZOOSPA is bolstered by some great guest appearances from (among others) Dawn Richard and Mykki Blanco.

Machinedrum
Human Energy

The press release suggests that this could be Machinedrum's career defining album. Well if 'Room(s)' and 'Vapor City' weren't career defining albums then we are in for a treat. He certainly sounds re-energised on the lead track 'Do it 4 U (feat. Dawn) which breathes energetic new life in Machinedrum's brand of musical alchemy which take in UK garage, footwork, techno, house and soul. Looks like we are in for a treat.

Ibibio Sound Machine / Machinedrum / Throwing Shade
Amai Ndiwulule / Lewasi / Dream Scene

The bulging archives of the International Library of African Music have recently been opened to a number of contemporary producers. On this 12”, Machinedrum, Throwing Shade and Ibibio Sound Machine all make a track using Hugh Tracy’s recordings (made over a 50 year period!). Talented names, amazing source material: what’s not to like? Out on Beating Heart.

Poirier feat. Machinedrum & Aleisha Lee
Kypoli

With multiple releases on Ninja Tune Poirier moves to Nice Up for his latest album and brings Machinedrum along for this soul filled, but with dark club atmosphere, and bass weight dancehall single made using vocal chops of Aleisha Lee. With remixes from Moresounds, on a reese bass jungle flavoured tip, and Thomas White.

Vapor City Archives

In a move that's way, way sadder than the Hobbit trilogy finishing up, Machinedrum has announced 'Vapor City Archives' will be the last of his 'Vapor City' endeavours, bringing his smooth, intricate tunes to a close in this particular universe. This is some of the most creative, propulsive and frankly beautiful work he's made, so grab it before the city gets quarantined forever.

Machinedrum
Gunshotta Ave

12” EP on 180 gram white with black speckles vinyl. Gunshotta Ave is the follow up EP from his recent full length on Ninja Tune. Featuring remixes of Gunshotta from Fracture and Amit as well as a new song that isn’t featured on the album, “Stirrin” - a crackly dubby jungle affair with Junior Murvin esque vocal line.
