Rachael Dadd

Though her surname is Dadd, Rachael Dadd plays nothing like dad-rock so anyone else other than me with that thought can get it right out of their heads. Instead she plays a kind of conceptual, contemporary folk music that has already lauded her plaudits across the globe. This her her first on Memphis Industries following on from work with a slew of different labels. Like most other records in 2019 it in inspired by and a protest to the recent political landscape.

Spark Illuminate / The Holly And The Ivy

It's Christmas 7" season and here's the latest by folky singer songwriter Rachel Dadd. She takes the image of the holly and the ivy as a base for two festive themed songs. Firstly she covers The Holly and the Ivy the actual 19th century folk song but also supplies an original song Spark Illuminate to warm your heart over the yuletide season.

Rozi Plain / Rachael Dadd

This 7" of beautifully muted folk and electronica pangs with nostalgic longing, with a delighted melancholy shared between artists Rozi Plain and Rachael Dadd. The split sees a track from Plain's record 'Friend' and Dadd's forthcoming, perfectly titled 'We Resonate', both ricocheting with folk music that is never traditional nor sparse.
