The Man With The Iron Fists

As one might expect from a film co-written and directed by RZA, The Man With The Iron Fists comes with a pretty mighty soundtrack. RZA produces many of the beats here - the rest are handled by, among others, Isaac Hayes and BADBADNOTGOOD - and the whole thing generally oozes that special brand of class that one only gets from Wu-Tang joints. The list of vocalists on this thing is frankly ridiculous - Kanye West, Ghostface Killah, Danny Brown, Pharaohe Monch, Pusha T, Freddie Gibbs...

Apollo Brown & Ghostface Killah
The Brown Tape

Ghostface Killah, one of the most prominent members of the Wu-Tang Clan, has collaborated with producer Apollo Brown, on The Brown Tape. The album is the story of the Deluca family, and the restless presence hunting them down. It's delivered in Ghostface's trademark flow, while Apollo Brown provides a worthy backdrop of chopped, crackling soul.

Ironman

Ghostface's debut record, Ironman, came in the Wu-Tang's golden era, following on from Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and the unmoveable chess-rap classic, Liquid Swords. Like his buddies Rae and the GZA, Ghostface's wicked fast, gleefully surreal raps slotted into place with thanks to RZA's production work. A classic.

Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues

The Wu-Tang’s seventh full length. Eighth if you’re perverse enough to count the single-copy Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, and Lesson Learn’d makes a point of dissing that item’s purchaser, appropriately cartoonish supervillain Martin Shkreli. That string-driven track and single People Say are strong enough to stimulate murmurs of a return to top form, so hopefully we’ll soon be discussing this Mathematics-produced album for entirely non-pharma-bro-related reasons.

36 Seasons

36 Seasons isn't just a Ghostface Killah album. It’s also a collaborative piece, with The Revelations providing the sounds while Kool G Rap and AZ also appear. Playing on themes about returning to the hood in NYC, the line about illegal chokeholds feels stark and real in the light of recent tragic news.

Bulletproof Wallets

Ghostface Killah’s 2001 solo statement is a pretty crucial part of the wider Wu-Tang puzzle, as well as a damn good time in its own right. RZA and The Alchemist deal with much of the production, and MC guests include Slick Rick and Raekwon. Bulletproof Wallets is reissued to double vinyl by Get On Down.

The Pretty Toney Album

The charmingly titled ’The Pretty Toney Album’ is American hip hop/rap artist and former Wu Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah’s fourth studio album. Originally released in 2004 in the wake of the shortcomings of many other Wu-Tang Clan members solo projects, Ghostface Killah has successfully created his own unique identity that has a strong, independent, distinctive sound that stems from the strength of his varied vocal styles and technical production skills.

Twelve Reasons To Die : The Brown Tape

Wu-Tang's lyrical tongue-twister and abstract genius Ghostface collaborated with parody Blaxploitation film composer Adrian Younge to create a stunning little record called Twelve Reasons To Die. Originally a Record Store Day release, The Brown Tape is a cassette version offering an old-school solution to an old-school album.
