If She Says She Is A Healer, She Is A Healer

New electronic works by Barnt, demonstrating two different ways of working with the materials. If She Says She Is A Healer, She Is A Healer has a track of personalised techno on one side and a five-part suite of quasi-ambient synth patterns on the other. Different but somehow consistent 12”, out on the Holger label.

It’s Barnt. That’s what my redneck uncle said, after his chicken coop burnt down. And, in a magical sense, Tale of Us & Recondite’s remix of Cherry Red has a scorched sense to it. The track is rough and dark, yet emanates fertility. And on the B-side is Jens-Uwe Beyer’s effort, which distills the thriving build-up to brew a tense piece of swell techno.

What’s a guy from the 70s doing in Cologne? Reinventing himself, always against the grains of his time. On his newest release, Barnt does not stray from this tried and tested path, and in spite of the nonsensical (or maybe I "just don’t get it") track titles delivers a coherent and refreshing album.

His Name

No info at all on this but from the sounds of a clip I'm listening to it's low end but lush techno gear with a kind of house-y feel. Big thumping low end and oddball samples. Minimal techno from respected German dude with fingers in pies and 1300+ likes on Facebook. That's more than us and we're a company.
