Ekca Liena & Spheruleus
Mapping The Boundary Layer

Winning the prize for this month's most awful press release is a collaborative effort from Ekca Liena & Spheruleus. I'll spare you the excruciating details that I've had to wade through to find out that it is a blend of electronics and acoustic instruments such as zither, violin, harmonica and glockenspiel on a work which soundtracks the atmosphere around us. Great cover art it has to be said which kind of reminds me of the Beach Boys Surf's Up in a weird kind of way.

Spheruleus
Light Through Open Blinds

Lost Tribe Sound is a great little label of passionate musos who genuinely love all of the music they put out. Light Through Open Blinds, the latest LP from Lincolnshire’s Spheruleus (Harry Towell), is an easy record to get behind - you can see why the people at LTS went for this thing. This is quixotic, charming and folksy electronica that’ll have you thinking of Animal Collective’s Sung Tongs.

Spheruleus and Friends
William Barber

‘William Barber’ is a collaborative album orchestrated by Lincolnshire based Spheruleus aka Harry Towell, who plays a unique blend of melancholic, rustic folk by using electronic processing on acoustic instruments. Towell is joined by Pennine inspired Hibernate co conspirators Isnaj Dui, Antonymes, Fraser McGowan (Caught in the Wake Forever) and Christoph Berg (Field Rotation) and Hibernate boss Jonathan Lees.
