Four Tries Down / It’s A Mess

Malmo's Hater return with a standalone 7" featuring two brand new tracks and following on from their Fire debut Siesta from back in 2018. They make dreamy, angular pop music with vocal nods to Nico cutting through guitar led ambience to wallow in what they self describe as a beautiful mess. Title may or may not be Rugby related.

Despite their name Hater are quite the romantics at heart. The Scandinavian four piece play heart-on-sleeve indie rock with memorable melodies, chiming guitars and just a bit of synth haze.  A perfect summer soundtrack that has led them to be compared to the Chills, Snail Mail and the Concretes.

Red Blinders

Red Blinders, the new EP from Swedish indie band, Hater boasts Marr-esque guitars and vocals reminiscent of fellow Swedes, The Concretes. The mix makes for melancholic hug. The band’s debut album, You Tried, which was released in 2016 made critics compare them to Canadian indie-poppers Alvvays and The Pretenders as well as ‘60s psychedelic rock pioneers Jefferson Airplane. It all certainly makes for an interesting proposition. 12” Vinyl and CD on Fire.

Reissue (and first-time vinyl release) of 1993's eponymous album from Seattle-based supergroup Hater. For anyone new to Hater - if we told you it was a collaboration between two guys from Soundgarden and members of Mother Love Bone, Devil Head and the mighty Monster Magnet, you could probably make a pretty informed guess as to how this is going to sound. Lovely swirly noisiness.
