Discordia: 2003 - 2020

Paul T. Kirk is a Japan-based Scotsman who makes beat-laden electronica as AKATOMBO full of samples, field recordings and other ephemera. His music is intended to portray what it is like to be an exiled Scotsman in Japan and has the sort of dystopian, alien feel that you might expect from someone existing in such a far off place.

Trace Elements

Originally released in 2003, this is the atmospheric debut of Akatombo - one Paul Kirk, a Scot based in Japan. His sonic landscapes tell of the bustle, infrastructure and human warmth of Hiroshima, often haunted by wafts of pulsing beats, sub bass and angsty guitars. More than a decade on, it still sounds like very little else.

Sometime, Never

Sometime, Never is the fourth album by Paul Thomsen Kirk, aka Akatombo. The Scotsman, now living in Hiroshima, Japan makes ethereal electronic music with pulsating beats. Sometime, Never follows on from his two albums, False Positives and Editions Mego recorded with ex-Wire bassist, Graham Lewis which were critically well received. Sometime, Never is available on CD.
