King Tubby
Dub From The Roots

A classic King Tubby dub from '75 which features various tracks seen floating about on compilations over the years but have yet to have a home on one piece of wax. Loads of early classics here including reworks of cuts by the likes of Horace Andy and Johnny Clarke. All with that smoky, cavernous echo, fx and huge floor shaking basslines. Tune in, sit back, smoke out.

King Tubby
The Roots Of Dub

Classic album from the dub master - originally issued way back in 1975 on Total Sounds outta Jamaica. It's impossible to overstate the importance Tubby's vision of dub reggae would have on contemporary bass music; from jungle to grime, dubstep and beyond. These cuts are undisputable hard evidence. A smokers delight.

King Tubby
Surrounded By the Dreads At the National Arena

Right in the capital of Jamaica, King Tubby proved his potency by playing a twelve hour set in September 1975. Surrounded by the Dreads at the National Arena is a testament to that night’s power, force and King Tubby’s legendary impact on everything we call dub today. A piece of history to bob your head to.

King Tubby meets Roots Radics
Dangerous Dub

Another excellent outing from King Tubby, this time working with Roots Radicals. Dangerous Dub gets nice and deep, echoes and reverb sending the instrumentals to some wild places. You know you can count on Tubby. First released in 1981, these ten tracks are reissued on vinyl by the Greensleeves label.

King Tubby
Never Run Away-Dub Plate Specials

King Tubby may have passed away in 1989, but he left behind such a gargantuan wealth of dubs that many of them are only finding their way to the public now. This collection brings together eighteen B-sides and dubplates cut by Tubby, largely over rhythms built by Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee. Some of the source material here includes Johnny Clarke’s ‘Peace and Love in the Ghetto’ and ‘I’m Still In Love’ by Queen Tiny and the Aggrovators.
