Sheila Rickards meets King Tubby
Jamaican Fruit of African Roots

Jamaican Fruit of African Roots by Sheila Rickards meets King Tubby was never released in Jamaica, or anywhere as a stand alone cut. This rare vocal version of a King Tubby production was recorded by Bunny Striker Lee in 1975 and featured the Aggrovators. The 12” aslo features dub versions by King Tubby and Prince Philip, The Aggrovators and Diggory Kenrick. Sheila Rickards disappeared after recording this - look out for a documentary on the search for the lost singer.

King Tubby
Dub From The Roots

A classic King Tubby dub from '75 which features various tracks seen floating about on compilations over the years but have yet to have a home on one piece of wax. Loads of early classics here including reworks of cuts by the likes of Horace Andy and Johnny Clarke. All with that smoky, cavernous echo, fx and huge floor shaking basslines. Tune in, sit back, smoke out.

King Tubby
The Roots Of Dub

Classic album from the dub master - originally issued way back in 1975 on Total Sounds outta Jamaica. It's impossible to overstate the importance Tubby's vision of dub reggae would have on contemporary bass music; from jungle to grime, dubstep and beyond. These cuts are undisputable hard evidence. A smokers delight.

King Tubby
Surrounded By the Dreads At the National Arena

Right in the capital of Jamaica, King Tubby proved his potency by playing a twelve hour set in September 1975. Surrounded by the Dreads at the National Arena is a testament to that night’s power, force and King Tubby’s legendary impact on everything we call dub today. A piece of history to bob your head to.
