Catherine Wheel
Ferment

Coming in at a solid no 23 in Pitchfork's Top Shoegaze albums, Music on Vinyl have had the good sense to issue Catherine Wheel's now classic 'Ferment' on vinyl. It contains several despatches of noisy shoegaze which is clear cut and rocky rather than woozy. Perhaps closer to Ride than anything else the band used thrashy guitars to create great thumping melodies to leap around your house to when the baby is asleep.

Catherine Wheel
Adam and Eve

Originally released in 1997, the faultline between the excesses of the back-end of Britpop and the re-emergence of interesting British indie, Catherine Wheel’s dreamy fourth studio album Adam And Eve correctly pre-empted the shift in the industry. Now, it’s being re-issued on a double-LP edition via Music On Vinyl.

Catherine Wheel
Chrome

'90s shoegazers Catherine Wheel were one of the few shoegazers to truly cross over to the American market. They did this by simply rocking out. 'Chrome' showcases them rockifying their previously dreamy sound with heavy big riffing guitars, growly impassioned vocals and thumping drums. Here's your chance to hear it all again.
