Silicon Scally
Cobalt Blue

Silicon Scally is back on Central Processing Unit (DMX Krew, Cygnus) with another set of electro niceness. Cobalt Blue contains four robust club tracks from the one born Carl Finlow. Entries like ‘Protocol 2’ and Cobalt Blue’s title piece chirrup away in that manner that makes you think of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. ‘Asynchronous’ is a little tougher, its blurting bass drum reminiscent of Special Request.

Terrace / Nu Era / Carl Finlow / London Modular Alliance
DE:10.05

De:tuned Records are going all-out for their tenth birthday celebrations, releasing a run of EPs that include tracks from friends and family they’ve accrued over the past decade. DE:10.05 generally keeps it electro - entries from Nu Era, Carl Finlow and London Modular Alliance are all Blade Runner synths and skittering 808s. The outlier is Terrace’s evocative deep house opener ‘Estrings’. Here’s to another ten years.
