K2
Hepatopolitika

An incredibly rare work released originally in 1994 on just 125 numbered copies, Hepatopolitika from K2 (the recording name of Japanese sound artist Kimihide Kusafuka). Recorded on his return to music after qualifying as a pathologist, it’s a minimalistic mix of musique concrete, and it now gets a lavish (but not much bigger) re-issue on Urashima.

Blackhole

K2, aka Kimihide Kusafuka, is a pathologist in a cancer hospital by day, and by night he does... this. Japanese noise which is, frankly, terrifying. Teaming up with piano and saxophone duo Takayuki Hashimoto and Satoshi Hayashi, otherwise known as .es, 'Blackhole' is as experimental as it comes. Available on CD in suitably unnerving sleeve.

Two

When two Detroit producers collaborate around Detroit on a 12" set for release on Detroit Underground, you know it's gonna be pretty Detroit. Following their 2012 LP Zug Island, their return to each other's arms (or studios) can only mean one thing - bangerz. And not in the Miley Cyrus sense - we're talking 909s, bass thunks and undeniable groove.
