Wrekmeister Harmonies
We Love To Look At The Carnage

J.R. Robinson and Esther Shaw present their fifth Wrekmeister Harmonies album, We Love To Look At The Carnage. Recorded with Swans’ Thor Harris and Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart on additional percussion and electronics, the album purports to soundtrack the feeling of night thoughts, and being unable to drift off to sleep.

The Alone Rush

The Alone Rush, the fifth LP Wrekmeister Harmonies have served up for Thrill Jockey, is the first that sees the band take to the stage as duo. The group’s miserabilist-in-chief J. R. Robinson now comes with Esther Shaw in tow as an official member. Helped wby several guest spots from Swans bloke Thor Harris, the group make music as brooding and intense as anything in the band’s catalogue to date. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’s cinematic abstractions come to mind, as does Ellis's old fling The Dirty Three.

Wrekmeister Harmonies
Light Falls

Wreckmeister Harmonies mix drone, neo-classical, outrock and extreme metal. They are led by JR Robinson. Essentially a duo, Esther Robinson makes up the other half. Their new album Light Falls features a bunch of interesting guests including Thierry Amar, Sophie Trudeau and Gregory Herzog from Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Ryley Walker and Cooper Crain from Bitchin’ Bajas. Light Falls is their fourth album in as many years. AND it’s on Thrill Jockey.

Night of Your Ascension

This. Is. A. Beast. Sound and video artist J.R. Robinson brings another installment from Wrekmeister Harmonies on a truly massive scale. Since Bring It All Down he’s been working with 30 musicians, including members of Einstürzende Neubauten, Cave, and Twilight. The result being a pummeling drone/doom filled affair.

Then It All Came Down

This folksy doom metal project comes from JR Robinson, Leviathan's Wrest and a variety of other metal artists, who come together to make a spectral, meandering cacophony with pastoral undertones. Wrekmeister Harmonies and 'Then It All Came Down' is recommended for fans of a variety of disciplines -- be they drone and doom specialists who spend too much time with Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room and Stara Rzeka, or fans of wide-eyed folk rock like Songs: Ohia.
