Piano Magic
Low Birth Weight

'Low Birth Weight' was the second album by Piano Magic the loose collective that centre upon the orbit of Glen Johnson. Originally released in 1999, Johnson freely admits that the album was hugely influenced by Disco Inferno, that brilliant ahead of their time act who burned out too quickly. Here, Johnson blended the sampledelia of Disco Inferno with the dream pop of the likes of Kitchens of Distinction and as always with Piano Magic is joined by an array of guests and collaborators including Pete Astor (the Loft/the Weather Prophets).

Cédric Pin & Glen Johnson
The Burning Skull

Now that Piano Magic are no more what happens next? Well the first thing out of their stable is this collaboration between Cedric Pin and Glen Johnson (the main one). It's an 18 track CD only thing of darkwave and electronica inspired by the dark things in life and thinking a bit harder than the usual pop people. I imagine there's more to come from this collective  - you might want to get in first.

Piano Magic
Closure

Piano Magic album have declared that this will be their final album. The suitably-titled Closure, released for the band’s twentieth anniversary, is a subtle and carefully considered set of what the band call ‘ghost rock’. It is sad in places, as one might imagine, but it is great to hear a band able to consciously make a final statement. Closure is released on CD and vinyl by Second Language.

Kristina Pulejkova / Glen Johnson
My Heart Has Run Out Of Breath

My Heart Has Run Out Of Breath is a film and musical collaboration between multi-media artist Kristina Pulejkova and founding member of London-based group Piano Magic, Glen Johnson. Pulejkova animated the film taking her cues from Kubrick and Tarkovsky and Johnson composed the soundtrack. The lyrics are in English, Turkish, German, Pulejkova’s native Macedonian and Italian. Pulejkova’s works deal with mechanical and organic elements of science, whilst Johnson’s band have worked with folk icon Vashti Bunyan, Low, John Grant and Tarwater during their genre defying career.
