Built To Spill
Ancient Melodies Of The Future

Some sauntering songs about all sorts from Built To Spill. Ancient Melodies Of The Future is the 2001 classic from the Idahoans and it's getting reissued just for you. It's full of slacked out guitars, loose and groovy drums and Doug Martsch's trade mark drawling croon. If you like their other stuff, Modest Mouse, The Pixies, The Decemberists and all things indie-rock then pick it up, it will not disappoint. Out on vinyl LP from Music On Vinyl.

Built To Spill
Untethered Moon

Built To Spill are back, and I think we can all be pretty pleased about that. Untethered Moon is their eighth studio album. Frontman and American indie guitar God, Doug Martsch produced the album with Sam Coombes of Quasi, who also plays on the album. Along with regular members Brett Netson and Jim Roth, the band have a new rhythm section, drummer Steve Gere and bassist Jason Albertini.

Built To Spill
Ultimate Alternative Wavers

Originally released in 1993 on Seattle imprint C/Z records, 'Ultimate Alternative Wavers' has been remastered from the original tape masters and reissued on gold vinyl for Record Store Day. Marking the twentieth anniversary of this classic shoegazer/grunge band, their debut album can still hold it's own alongside bands like Ariel Pink and Parquet Courts whilst paying its respects to influences such as Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and The Velvet Underground.

Built To Spill
There's Nothing Wrong With Love

Built To Spill’s second record here, first released in 1994. Their gorgeously slackerish indie sound is pretty much at its peak here, with favourites like ‘Distopian Dream Girl’ and ‘Car’ included. This reissue, on Up Records, is the very first time There’s Nothing Wrong With Love has been re-pressed to vinyl since the original run.

Built To Spill
Live

Built to Spill recorded this live cd in the sweet spot after 1999's classic Keep It Like A Secret. It has been rereleased here by little-known label Warners. The set sees them at their expansive, Young-esque best, even taking Neil’s Cortez the Killer for a ten-minute run around the block. Two bonus tracks on this Record Store Day special.

Built To Spill
Keep It Like A Secret

Ah, gotta love a bit of Built To Spill. This classic album, first released in 1997 saw the band experiment with a bigger, cleaner, and tighter sounds - courtesy of the luxuries of a well-stocked Warners studio no doubt. Anyway, this is the album that put Bult To Spill on the map. A map that should come in handy as they crank up the tour buses again.
