Edward Ka-Spel
High On Station Yellow Moon

Edward Ka-Spel, he of The Legendary Pink Dots, recently embarked on a new solo / collaborative venture with the help of Amanda Palmer. High On Station Yellow Moon is an ambitious song suite in two parts (and ten sub-parts), creating strange worlds through quiet psychedelia. CD and LP editions on Soleilmoon.

I Can Spin A Rainbow

The busily creative Amanda Palmer here teams up with Edward Ka-Spel, who you’ll know from The Legendary Pink Dots, for their first full-length collaboration. I Can Spin A Rainbow is a work of subtle theatre, with both artists bringing their A-game in terms of lyrics, production and performances. CD and double LP on Cooking Vinyl.

The Maria Sessions

The Maria Sessions is made up of what are essentially jams recorded whilst they were writing and recording The Maria Dimension album in 1991. Locking themselves away in a cabin in the Netherlands with synths, samplers and a variety of instruments to create truly avant garde psychedelia. First time these tracks have been available on their own release.

The Maria Dimension

The Maria Dimension is the 1991 brainchild of off-kilter psychedelic wizards - The Legendary Pink Dots. Comprising of three sections, the offering is labelled by the band as their very own "lexicon" after four weeks of improvisation and experimentation resulted in a warped stew of candid vocals and flickering guitars.

The Seismic Bleats of Quantum Sheep

The Legendary Pink Dots Five Days album was apparently recorded alongside an accompanying ‘secret’ record (what does this mean?), and that record is The Seismic Blasts of Quantum Sheep. The group edge closer than usual towards regular song-forms, though still staying mostly swathed in experimental shadows. 300 vinyl copies on Abstrackce.

Come out of the Shadows Vol. One

1992 saw The Pink Dots anxious to find a new path. The pain of losing their inspirational guitar player Bob Pistoor to cancer, yet simultaneously enjoying an unexpected taste of success with the album "The Maria Dimension" saw the band plunged into a spin.Resisting the temptation of rushing a new album together and perhaps capitalising on the Maria momentum, The Dots instead decided on a long sojourn in the studio. Guests were invited - namely former LPD violin player Patrick Q. Wright and old friend Steve Stapleton (Nurse With Wound). The music presented here is pretty much untouched  from the original improvisations in the studio…there has just been an amount of very necessary editing  (anyone for 43 minutes of "On the Boards/Swords?").There is also material from the other Dots album which largely emerged from long studio sessions - "9 Lives To Wonder".
