Better Oblivion Community Center (Phoebe Bridgers & Conor Oberst)
Better Oblivion Community Center

Better Oblivion Community Center might be a brand new name but the betting is that you'll know the people involved. Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst are both well known solo artists in their own right but here they work together on an album conceived and recorded in the hot L.A summer of 2018. Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) is on it, John Congleton co-produces.

Salutations

Bright Eyes' lead quiverer Conor Oberst's last album Ruminations was a a home produced, stark work featuring just his own voice, guitar and piano. He still wanted to record with a band though and so headed down to Malibu to record Salutations with a full rocking band in tow. This includes band versions of all the Ruminations tracks plus seven additional songs.

Bright Eyes
Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil

A reissue of Bright Eyes' 2002 full length release, Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil. With equal parts folk and indie, frontman Conor Oberst's authentic and well-crafted songwriting is accompanied by his shaky Nebraska voice and diverse instrumentation including orchestral elements, a rock line-up and often just simple acoustic guitar. Released on Vinyl LP and CD on the Saddle Creek label.

Ruminations

Conor Oberst, aka Mr. Bright Eyes himself, has a new album of solo work. Ruminations was made according to the classic technique of sealing oneself away alone during the winter, and is a sparse affair involving Oberst and no-one else at all. Ruminations comes out on Nonesuch, with a nice poster slipped into the LP edition.

Bright Eyes
The Studio Albums 2000 – 2011

Here, have a massive motherload of Bright Eyes: six full albums from the era 2000 - 2011, each of them remastered to perfection. That comes to 6 CDs, or a back-breaking 10 LPs if you choose the vinyl box, which also includes photo prints and a new essay on Conor Oberst’s prime project. Limited edition boxes on Saddle Creek.

Conor Oberst
Hundreds Of Ways / Fast Friends

The first single taken from 2014's excellent Upside Down Mountain, released for Record Store Day in April. Typically Oberst scathing lyrics blended with upbeat sarcastic Johnny Cash-inspired rhythm guitars, and with Swedish duo First Aid Kit providing jaunty backing vocals. Limited edition 7"on Nonesuch.

Conor Oberst

We’re not quite sure what the difference is between a Conor Oberst record and a Bright Eyes record, but seeing as Oberst himself seems to know right from left we’ll go with him on this one. The first LP to be released under his given name in twelve years, Conor Oberst picks up where Bright Eyes’ 2007 album Cassadaga left off. That is to say that this record moves back and forth between Emoricana balladry and folk-rock hoe-downs.
