Colin Potter
The Where House?

Nurse With Wound, Current 93, Organum, Other Bands - tireless sound-maverick Colin Potter has worked with them all, and knocked out an overwhelming stream of his own material since 1980 right up to the present day. The Where House? is one of his first releases, now remastered for vinyl by Dark Entries and sounding immense. Gluttonous bass and fringe synth in ‘Yoursmine’ are followed by choral drones of ‘Alleys’ and it only gets weirder from then on. Super industrial/post punk electronic experiments.

Man Who Floated Away / The Closer You Are To The Center, The Further You Are From The Edge

The names responsible for this record may be familiar to some listeners from Nurse With Wound, and indeed these musicians make up a significant part of that group’s rotating roster (in particular the main maestro Steve Stapleton. Man Who Floated Away / The Closer You Are To The Center, The Further You Are From The Edge is a pair of side-long pieces from different personnel combinations, with the kind of elaborate experimental magick you’d expect. LP on Bisou.

Rank Sonata

Colin Potter has been orbiting the centre of the UK underground music scene(s) for his whole career, as a member of Nurse With Wound and Current 93 and through a stack of other collaborations. Rank Sonata is a fully solo work however, and finds Potter wandering his electronics down dreamy ambient pathways. On Hallow Ground.

Potter Natalizia Zen
Shut Your Eyes On The Way Out

Here are PNZ (Potter Natalizia Zen) catapulting listeners into deep space with a mixture of kraut influenced synth rock, disco, floating dub and library sounds. The trio combine all these influences to make a heady and original brew of seductive rhythms and arpeggio melodies. Strap yourself in.

Colin Potter
The Abominable Slowman

Some puns are funny, others aren’t, and some are rooted in reality. Coming together a glacial pace, The Abominable Slowman was recorded over the past twenty years and is a dense concoction of noise, rhythm, and patience. Colin Potter’s second full-length album boils down to a mix of ambient soundscapes and haunting (some might argue 'pleasant') fantasies.

Colin Potter
The Ghost Office

Deep Distance continues its trawl through the back passages of Colin Potter's early '80s DIY electronic tapes with this which was his first full length release. Improbably it was recorded in the quaint village of Sutton on the Forest just north of York. The original cassette has been remastered and includes extra tracks and outtakes. Prime primitive electronics for fans of minimal synth.

Bang (or slow evolving soundscape) for your buck here. Bass Communion is Steven Wilson  of Porcupine Tree’s avantgarde drone moniker, Colin Potter of Nurse With Wound and long time abstract composer Jonathan Coleclough smashed together on this much sought after record in 2003. Slow and groaning, these immersive soundscapes naggle at your brain.

Entering Again

Sacred Summits returns in early 2014 with an album of previously cassette only compositions by Colin Potter that highlight the early development of his sonic soundscapes in the years preceding joining arch-industrialists, Nurse With Wound. Based on the A Gain cassette only album of 1982, “Enter Again” takes the beautiful, ethereal drone of opening track, On Entering York Minster, as the main inspiration of the whole album. Riding the birth of the DIY cassette tape scene that followed the punk explosion, Colin released 6 classic albums between 1980 and 1982, that have long since become collector’s items. Sacred Summits, in tangent with Dom Martin’s Deep Distance label, are working on releasing a series of Colin’s music throughout 2014. The release comes in beautiful hand silk-screened and numbered sleeves, has been remastered by Dubplate & Mastering and comes with special liner notes from Colin himself.
