Get Well Soon
Get Well Soon stares down that trickiest, most universal of subjects, Love: a bold move. It may well be Konstantin Gropper’s most broadly accessible record to date, covering the highs and lows of the titular emotion within a witty, emotionally open indie rock structure. Out on Caroline International.
Get Well Soon, AKA Konstantin Gropper, will be releasing three different EPs on three consecutive Mondays in November. They will be available exclusively on limited edition 10” vinyl and all three are presented in sleeves with striking black and white artwork made by the celebrated German painter Hermann Schenkel. ‘The Lufthansa Heist’ is the first one in the series: its crashing guitars and euphoric chords allude to the slacker/college rock scene of 1980s America.
German band Get Well Soon have a rich and esoteric character, bringing a wide range of stylistic influences (a bit of tango, some Morricone-esque strings, brass-led folk etc.) into the cinematic sweep of their music. This reissue of their 2008 debut Rest Now Weary Head You Will Get Well Soon is released by City Slang, on CD and on LP.
