Roisin Murphy

Overpowered (2007) was the second album by ex-Moloko singer Roisin Murphy. Murphy set out to make a pop/disco album and she succeeded. She took influence from the pre-house sounds of D-Train, Mantronix and Gwen Guthrie, whilst being inspired by the cerebral pop of Yazoo and Eurythmics. Jimmy Douglass, Bugz In The Attic and Richard X all helped to make the album what it is.

Roisin Murphy
Take Her Up To Monto

She's quirky and she's popular on 6 Music. Roisin Murphy was formerly in trip hop group Moloko but now makes oddball solo albums that have an electronic oddness about them that contrasts with her dramatic, breathy vocal delivery. This is her latest and follows up the very successful and Mercury Prize nominated 'Hairless Toys'.
