All the favourites are there, drink in hand: “I’m Sticking with You”, “Rock and Roll” and “Andy’s Chest”, but they’ve changed a bit, as old friends do. There’s original mixes taken from the infamous tour of 1969 as well as rare instrumentals, alternate versions and mixes from 2014 never before pressed into vinyl.

That enough Lou Reed for ya?
Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico
By 1972, this configuration of Velvet Underground were a distant memory, but they got it together for a one-off show at the Bataclan club in Paris. Some wise soul recorded the whole thing off of the soundboard, capturing these classics played in a largely acoustic setting. Its back on vinyl here with a couple of extra rehearsal cuts and some new liners.
Lou Reed was a legend and rightly so. His work defied categorisation, from his early work with the Velvet Underground, to his later solo stuff -- and then the stranger stuff, like that collaboration with Metallica. That really was weird. My sister always said he sounded like a sheep. Original Album Series is a collection of five of his albums on CD, cheap at twice the price.
'Metal Machine Music' is that much debated record of Lou Reed's that might have just been made to annoy label bosses, or might have been a crowning achievement of avant-garde and noise. Or maybe both. Zeitkratzer had the genius idea to perform the record live and are now showing off a new version of the classic: this record is a release of each segment of 'Metal Machine Music', as played by Zeitkratzer. It collects live performances from around Italy. If you never thought 'Metal Machine Music' could be played by an orchestra, Zeitkratzer are here to blow your mind. The performances are mixed by Rashad Becker.
