Chris Watson / Georgia Rodgers
Notes From The Forest Floor / Line Of Parts

This split album between Chris Watson and Georgia Rodgers, pressed to clear vinyl, showcases two artists operating at the forefront of field recordings in modern music. Watson’s ‘Notes From The Forest Floor’ dates back to 2015, recorded in a rainforest reserve in Costa Rica, while Rodgers’ ‘Line of Parts’ is from last year and recorded between Scotland and London. Both were multi-channel sound installations before being mixed to stereo for this release.

Cabaret Voltaire
Chance Versus Causality

Chance Versus Causality is perhaps the most intriguing of all of Cabaret Voltaire’s records. After a gig in Brussels in 1979 the band were approached by Babette Mondini and asked if they would score a film she was working on at the time. Cabaret Voltaire made the soundtrack without ever watching the footage, sent off the tapes to Holland, and then … nothing. The trio never saw the film and, after a limited release, it basically disappeared from the record. Now the Chance Versus Causality OST has been resurrected by Mute for its first proper release.

Cabaret Voltaire
1974 - 76

Cabaret Voltaire dropped their debut LP in 1979, but they were going for a full six-years prior to the release of Mix-Up. The 1974-76 compilation collects some of the group’s home demos from their formative years. Rough around the edges, but you can hear Richard H Kirk, Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson honing their pioneering sound in real-time here.

Chris Watson
Locations, Processed (Blue TB7 Series)

Chris Watson probably has the coolest CV of the original post-punk scene. Starting out as one of the founding members of Cabaret Voltaire, he has since become one of the world's premier recorders of nature, helping create meaningful soundscapes for David Attenborough's documentaries. On Locations, Processed he combines these practices, creating an audio odyssey using The Moog Sound Lab’s System 55 to celebrate the legendary Bob Moog.
