Leatherface Vinyl, CD & tapes by Leatherface at Norman Records
Aaah, the smooth smooth sound of Leatherface… Sunderland-based 90’s punk, reissued at last for the eager fans. Mush is a typically direct Leatherface album, channelling the spirit of 80’s hair metal but with a slightly grittier touch. The reissued LP includes rare bonus tracks as downloads, is remastered, and contains detailed liner notes. On Fire.
Coming from Sunderland long before the likes of Field Music and Maximo Park made it cool to do so, Leatherface brought their brand of catchy punk to those who cared to listen. Minx was their fourth album and was originally released in 1993. It followed on from the success, on both sides of the Atlantic, of its predecessor, Mush, and enabled them to bob above the surface for a time. The band split after this, reforming ten years later.
‘Razor Blades And Aspirin’ is a 3CD set of rare, bonus and remastered material from underground, 90’s punk rock legends Leatherface’s classic albums ‘Fill Your Boots’, ‘Mush’ & ‘Minx’. Formed in Sunderland in 1988, Leatherface re wrote the rules of punk by displaying an undeniable songwriting prowess and technical skill which drove their powerful angst ridden brashness. Fronted by the emotionally raw and articulate Frankie Stubbs, Leatherface were one of the most intensely exciting bands of their time.
