The Felice Brothers
Undress

Prolific folk and country-rock outfit The Felice Brothers return with yet another studio album, Undress. Now in the second decade of their existence and having spent a lot of their career in introspection, their latest record sees the group turn outwards and address the political tumult around them.

Simone Felice
Puppet / Prisoner

Following on from 2018’s Projector album, ex-Felice Brother, Simone Felice has a new single, Puppet b/w Prisoner. Puppet, in a move that may surprise/please many Normanites, features Four Tet. B-side Prisoner is a previously unreleased track. 7” single on New York Pro.

The Felice Brothers

The Felice Brothers debut album was originally released in 2008. The band, who call New York’s Catskill Mountains home, took their inspiration from The Band - seemingly just as much from their unkempt, ragged look on the cover of their self-titled second album as they did from the music. For those that enjoy their alt. country/Americana, this is a high-point of the genre. 10th anniversary reissue.

Simone Felice
The Projector

You might know him as being one part of competent American folksters The Felice Brothers. Or maybe you recognise his name from the liner notes of some of the 2010s most competent indie-pop (Bat For Lashes, Peace, The Lumineers). Either way, Simone Felice has come through with an LP that might well make him a household name in 2018. Four Tet and the aforementioned Ms. Lashes guest on The Projector, which is a record of competent singer-songwritery with a faintly electronic edge.

Ian Felice
In The Kingdom Of Dreams

This is the first solo album by Ian Felice, one part of folky favourites the Felice Brothers. His brother Simone plays on it too as does fellow Felice brother James. A family affair then, just like his main band. Expect lushly conceived folk opus's with that haunted deathly feel in evidence Surprised this is his first solo record. Very accomplished,

The Felice Brothers
Life In The Dark

The Felice Brothers are favourites of Uncut Magazine and make a soulful mix of rock, country and folk. The five-piece, who hail from Palenville in the Catskill Mountains, recorded and self-produced Life In The Dark in the garage of a farm in upstate New York. Expect catchy melodies, joyous harmonies and a good ol’ time.

The Felice Brothers
Favorite Waitress

Technically, this is the tenth album by Catskill mountain-dwelling troubadours The Felice Brothers. Earlier releases, such as 2007's Tonight at the Arizona and the excellent 2008 eponymous record, were raw and ramshackle, with satisfying glitches in the recording (such as, where lightning hit the chicken coop they were recording in) and fuzzy, raucous live performances. Since then, their sound has inevitably become more polished, and 2014's Favorite Waitress is a much more considered affair. Blips and rawness aside, the songwriting does shine through. Double vinyl gatefold, limited stock.
