Zero 7
Aurora / Mono

Long lasting downtempo electronica crew Zero 7 return with a 12" on Make Records. The a-side is sees the band collaborating with ungoogleable vocalist Hidden on 'Mono' while for the b-side they've worked again with Jose Gonzalez (who is decidedly more googleable). Smooth to the point of being slippery.

Zero 7
EP 3

Man the cafetieres! Acid jazz loungeslackers Zero 7 are back and smoother than ever. Their relative comeback is armed with velvet voices, dark, epic production and 'back to our roots' rhetoric to ease you into your Sunday mornings. But don't take this as their last hurrah, cos they're promising a new full length coming our way.

Zero 7
Simple Science

Zero 7 have been around for seemingly yonks and here's a taster of what not-actually-old-at-all geezers Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker have got up their sleeves for their forthcoming album, due in Autumn 2014.  "Soulful sonic architects, connoisseurs of beatific beats and sound design par excellence". Listen to the clip and see if you agree.

Take Me Away

“We're really glad to let you know that we've got a couple more 12" releases coming. The second of which, 'Take Me Away' features (the one and) Only Girl . On the b-side of this one is a track we knocked up after a long hang out at Block 9 at Glastonbury last year called 'U Know'. We hope you enjoy these next instalments …..and as always, massive thanks...S & H x” Take Me Away exemplifies the boys cinema-scope, widescreen sound and ambition. A tight, in thepocket bass line takes root over skittering, celestial synths and Only Girl’s sublime vocal line. This could be a phuture-phunky Quincy Jones track, utterly infectious. In perfect tonal-tandem with this is the uplifting, techy-pop of U Know.

Zero 7
Simple Things

Here we have a reissue of the first Zero 7 album, first put out into the world way back in 2001. Still sounds smoothy smooth, an hour’s worth of chilled, romantically inclined music that sends the basslines out to the front of the mix, a warm bed of synths and organs nestled beneath it all. The reissue stretches to two LPs, put out by Rhino.
