Nate Young
Volume One: Dilemmas Of Identity

New one from Wolf Eye’s very own Nate Young, who in his solo releases thus far has burrowed down a peculiar and mucky brand of experimental electronics. ‘Volume One: Dilemmas of Identity’ - which comes out via Young’s own Lower Floor Music - is a collection of material which Young made during the time of his Regression series, but wasn’t quite the fit for that project. Needless to say it’s as essential as anything with Young’s name attached.

Universal Eyes
Four Variations On ‘Artificial Society’

A line-up many may have expected never to see in the year of our lord 2018… Universal Eyes is a combination of Universal Indians and Wolf Eyes, and in this case that means Aaron Dilloway alongside John Olson and Nate Young again, as well as the vibrant power of Gretchen Gonzales-Davidson. Four Variations on ‘Artificial Society’ is a delightfully deep and murky suite of sounds: you know you’re going to love it. From Lower Floor Music.

Wolf Eyes
Strange Days II

Noise mongering stalwarts Wolf Eyes are constantly releasing material, and they aren’t about to stop now. Straight after releasing their latest full length Undertow they back it up with this two track EP made up of purely abstract electronic experimentation. Noisy, of course. Vinyl on Lower Floor.

Wolf Eyes
Undertow

New audioz from erstwhile American weirdos Wolf Eyes. Scuzzy electronics and silt-dredged vibes, just the way you like it. Undertow is released as a CD and as an LP, both of which come with a bonus CD called Right In Front Of You! The vinyl has a newsprint zine with it too. Out on the gang’s own new imprint, Lower Floor Music.

Moon Pool & Dead Band
Humanizer

About as otherworldly and extra-terrestrial as its album sleeve is Humanizer - a six-track offering from avant-garde electronic duo Moon Pool & Dead Band. Each track explores varying sonics and stretch into new untested shapes that continue to push the boundaries. Born in, of course, the dark recesses of Detroit, this synth-feast is not to be underestimated.

Wolf Eyes
I Am A Problem: Mind In Pieces

Weird, a Wolf Eyes album on Jack White’s Third Man Records… I Am A Problem: Mind In Pieces is the first ‘proper’ Wolf Eyes album to showcase their late-period Trip Metal (sorry John Olson, I mean TR1p Met@L!!1!) style, and while it is pretty damn gnarly, it sticks pretty close to actual song forms. Intriguing...

Wolf Eyes / Timmy's Organism / Video
Audio Social Dissent - Live at Third Man

Wow, Jack White has started hanging out with some heavy characters… He invited Video, Timmy’s Organism and prime trip-metallers Wolf Eyes (they were all touring together) into Third Man Records to record a thicky, noisy session. Audio Social Dissent - Live At Third Man includes a never-before-released Wolf Eyes song by the way!

Wolf Eyes
Enemy Ladder / Dull Murder Two

Jack White’s Third Man label will be releasing the new album by Michigan’s post-industrial noise rock act Wolf Eyes in late October. In the meantime, to whet your appetite, Enemy Ladder will be released as a single. The 7” is backed with Dull Murder Two. It is the band’s first new material for nearly three years.

Viva Negativa! A Tribute To The New Blockaders: Volume III: USA

Anti-music noise-nonsense-mongers The New Blockaders are, y’know, kind of a big deal in the noise world, and that fact is reflected by this tribute compilation, in which what feels like the majority of the noise world turn up to contribute a track. Seriously, take a look at the full tracklisting: mind-blowing talent. 2 discs, on Important Records.

Wolf Eyes
Slicer

Slicer is a piece of early Wolf Eyes, initially released way back in 2001 as a cassette. For only the second outing of the 'classic' line-up of Aaron Dilloway, Nate Young and John Olson, Slicer is a really amazing piece of work, moving through a whole lot of territory. This reissue is the first vinyl outing for the record too.

Wolf Eyes
Dread

American experimentalists Wolf Eyes add a distinctly Detroit twist to electronics, dub and punk. The band are one-of-a-kind but count Suicide and Cabaret Voltaire among their inspirations. Dread has been out of print for the best part of twenty years making it a sought-after lost classic, albeit a bloody weird one. LP and CD on Lower Floor Music.
