Black Mountain
Destroyer

Stephen McBean from Canadian psych-rockers Black Mountain learned to drive recently. This has inspired him to call the band’s new album Destroyer, their fifth, after a Dodge Destroyer built in 1985 when McBean was at the age he was originally eligible to learn. By all accounts, he is now a bit of a boy racer. On Jagjaguwar.

Black Mountain
IV

JagJaguwar release Black Mountain’s newest slab of ferocious and psychedelic hard rock. Available on CD, black double vinyl LP and very limited white double vinyl LP, IV borrows the tough template of 1970s hard rock, but also blends a jam-band mentality and some analogue synth worship. Here, burnt out organ riffs and choral vocals meet extended improv.
