The Charlatans
Up At The Lake

Up At The Lake by The Charlatans was originally released in 2004. In comparison to other albums by the North-West indie old-hats, it doesn’t seem to be quite as well remembered. The critics liked it back then though. Anyhow, here’s your chance to relive it with a lovely vinyl reissue. 180g LP on Virgin.

Tim Burgess
Inspired Again

Nearly a decade ago The Charlatans frontman, Tim Burgess got together with Ladyhawke, Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine, Martin Duffy of Primal Scream, Josh Heyward of The Horrors and Stefan Halperin of The Klaxons to fight the post-christmas, pre-New Year lull by recording some songs. The album, As I Was Now, appeared on Record Store Day 2018. This single, Inspired Again is lifted from the album and features a cover of Suicide’s Cheree on the b-side. 7” single, limited to 300 copies on O Genesis.

The Charlatans
Totally Eclipsing

Now with their own exhibition, these indie veterans are having a pretty nice later career burst thank you very much. 'Totally Eclipsing' is a mini album released here as a standalone vinyl edition but also comes as part of a special expanded version of their most recent full length effort 'Different Days'.

Tim Burgess
As I Was Now

Who would you recruit if you were putting a band together? Me I'd go for Phil Collins (drums), Nick Beggs (bass), Robert Fripp (guitar), Viv Savage (keys) and Elton John (triangle). Tim Burgess went for some lesser names because these were the names he'd already recruited for his band to play on his latest album. Sadly due to our Twitter spat I wasn't considered but little does he know I play a mean cor anglais. His loss. Anyway this was apparently recorded in 2008 which I find hard to believe as Ladyhawke is on it and she was surely about ten at the time.

The Charlatans
Over Again

The Charlatans are still going strong and here unleash a Christmas present to all their remaining fans in the form of this funky patchwork quilt of a song taken from their recent 'Different Days' opus. Not sure what is on the B-side as we haven't been given any information. Hopefully a life sized 3D hologram of Tim Burgess's head.

Tim Burgess & Peter Gordon
Around EP

When he's making his hair into one amazing gigantic yellow ball, Tim Burgess is still busy with the music making. Following on from his collaboration with New York composer Peter Gordon he's drafted in some of his showbiz pals to remix. JD Twitch, Sonic Boom, David Cunningham and lady friend Nik Void are all here.

The Charlatans
Different Days

It's hard to fathom but as well as tweeting on a secondly basis Tim Burgess also manages to help make regular bursts of music both solo and with his beloved the Charlatans. It was hard to be anything but nice about their last album as a) it was genuinely good to have them back and b) if you did so the entire Twitter community would gang up on you. Anyway this is a brand new album from the band and the first since the sad passing of drummer Jon Brookes. Features guest spots from Anton Newcombe (the Brian Jonestown Massacre/Twitter), Johnny Marr (the Smiths/Twitter) and Paul Weller (not on Twitter).

Tim Burgess & Peter Gordon
Same Language, Different Worlds

Peter Gordon has a long history of working with the likes of Arthur Russell and other remarkable New York types, and Tim Burgess of The Charlatans obviously jumped at the chance to collaborate with him. Their Same Language, Different Worlds is Russell-esque future funk record, with contributions from Nik Void (Factory Floor) and Peter Zummo! On O Genesis.

Oh Men (Remixes)

Continuing his proclivity for the remix album, Charlatans front man and O.Genesis proprietor Tim Burgess is releasing a remix version of his 2014 Record Store Day release ‘Oh Men’. Remixes come from Stephen & Gillian from New Order who have now adopted the moniker The Other Two, alongside The Invisible Conga People and Carter Tutti. If 2013’s sonic mutilation of Burgess’ 2nd LP ‘Oh No I Love You’ is anything to go by (which accomplished the rare feat of surpassing the original) then ‘Oh Men (remixes)’ could well be similarly triumphant.

Ian Rankin, Craig Parkinson, Nik Void & Tim Burgess
Theme to 'A Little Bit Of Powder'

A holy trinity of excellent artists comes together for 'Theme to A Little Bit Of Powder'. The project originally began as a short story by acclaimed writer Ian Rankin, which caught the eye of Tim Burgess, lead singer of the newly anointed and no-longer-uncool Charlatans, who is releasing a spoken version of the story on his label -- as read by misfit Craig Parkinson. To top it all off, Factory Floor's innovative Nik Colk Void has composed a soundtrack for it. Ambient audiobook, anybody?

Tim Burgess
A Gain (Stoned Alone Again Or – Seahawks Remix)

12 inches from the conspicuously highlighted Britpop survivor Tim Burgess, here. Two originals and two remixes over two sides of the black stuff. There’s nothing better than hearing Britpop remixed - something bands who released CD singles in the 90s knew very well. Fortunately Andy Votel and Seahawks are here to scratch that particularly retro itch. O Genesis are to blame.
