These New Puritans
Inside The Rose

The twin brothers Barnett are back: it’s These New Puritans, joined by Graham Sutton (Bark Psychosis) David Tibet (Current 93) and a sizeable list of other chums. In the bobbing, neoclassical wave wake of 2014’s Field of Reeds, the band seem to have found their way into a more energetic, seething post-punk for this one.

These New Puritans
Expanded (Live At The Barbican)

These New Puritans pushed the boundaries of their music with one of the most unexpected and singular releases of 2013, ‘Field of Reeds’. Melding classical and experimental compositions, ‘Field of Reeds’ was a bold and ambitious accomplishment amongst a derivative musical landscape. ‘Expanded (Live at the Barbican)’ is an opportunity to hear one of the most unique albums of recent times live. Also featured are reworked songs both old and new, all played with the impressive inclusion of the Heritage Orchestra and Synergy Vocals.

These New Puritans
Hidden

Hidden was probably the first time we noticed that These New Puritans were no ordinary band. First up, leader Jack Barnett claimed that he was writing some of these pieces to be played on bassoon and they eventually brought in a Czech orchestra, a children's choir, a cream cracker and six foot African drums to help realise their vision. The result is a powerful and uncompromising album which unfathomably blends neo-classical with dancehall and electronica.
