The Crack was the first album by The Ruts. It was originally released in 1979. The band spliced together punk and reggae and were loved by John Peel. It contained the singles Babylon’s Burning and Something That I Said. The band’s lyrics were aimed at social and political problems, none more than the track Jah War, which criticised unjust actions of the police. 40th anniversary remastered vinyl reissue, cut at Abbey Road.
