The Red Krayola
Parable Of Arable Land

Ye olde psych-rockers Red Crayola played the loosest, most free-form version of their genre possible, letting each of their instruments stray far from one another and allowing their rhythms to interlock only in crucial moments. 'Parable of Arable Land' was originally released in 1967 but is getting a reissue from Charly records, and offers up psych worship as tinged with an almost post-punk dedication to dejection and moodiness.

Corrected Slogans was the first collaboration between Art & Language and The Red Crayola. It was originally released in 1976 and was the first recorded material from The Red Crayola since 1968. upon its release reviews were positive yet oddly assumed the music was ironic. It kick-started a five year steady stream of material from Mayo Thompson and Jesse Chamberlain.

The Red Krayola
Singles 1968- 2002

Although it’s odd to think that an experimental band such as The Red Krayola would ever release singles, the band did actually release quite a few. This collection brings together 21 tracks that were released in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Most of them are quite rare with a few that are previously unreleased. Whilst not a best of, the album does chart the progression of the bands sound from the Ry Cooder-ish blues of Old Tom Clark to the very experimental Stil De Grain Brun via the danceable pop of An Old Man’s Dream.
