Bill Laswell / Nicholas James Bullen
You know that when Bill Laswell (of Painkiller and a thousand heavy production jobs) and Nicholas James Bullen (of Scorn and bloody Napalm Death) threaten Bass Terror, they are going to deliver on that threat. These two pieces are dense with low-end throb, pulse and thrash, and they have never before been released on vinyl. Out on Sub Rosa.

If, like Mr. Burns, I had an emergency button I could press under my desk whenever I wanted to make things happen, it'd be big and red and say COIL. Once again fans of the industrial ambient innovators can rejoice as this CD edition of City of Light sees its day in the sun. Back in '97, producer and genre hopper Bill Laswell collaborated with Peter Christopherson (you know, don't you?) and John Balance; the trio made a thirteen minute piece and got ambient legend Tetsu Inoue to collage the scenes around it. The result is an expansive, droning, dreaming record for all to treasure.
Bill Laswell has appeared on and produced countless records to date, but this reissue takes us all the way back to 1983, and Bill’s first ever album. Baselines is a rubbery suite of jazz-funk for brass, wind, synthesisers, percussion, and Bill’s spacey, wobbly bass guitar, all produced dubstyle! Baselines is reissued by Tiger Bay.
Killing Time was the only release by Cambridge based band Massacre, before they disbanded for nearly 20 years. It is a sweet sounding mix of avant-rock and jazz that has been reissued by Spittle onto a three-sided 2LP. Killing Time was part live recorded in Paris so get you some real as-it-happened energy in you. It is available on Vinyl Double LP.
Jon Batiste, Bill Laswell & Chad Smith
Manic shit from po-mo heavy weight's Jon Batiste, Bill Laswell & Chad Smith. The Process is definitely an apt title for this kaleidoscopic work out. Smooshing together, Herbie (let's face it, who else do you know called Herbie?), Snarky Puppy, Flylo and other past-meet-future funkateers. Packed with features from all sorts of cosmic soul-brothers, The Process is a deep trip. Out on vinyl LP and CD via M.O.D Technologies.

Fanu & Bill Laswell
First issued in 2008, Lodge is a collaboration between the ever busy Bill Laswell (Last Exit, Painkiller) and drum&bass producer Fanu. Laswell plays along well with the ferocious rhythms, his hard-funk bass joined by two brass players and the legendary Bernie Worrell (Parliament-Funkadelic and Talking Heads) on keys! Reissued on Karlrecords.
