Mental Cube
Mental Cube EP

Mental Cube were Future Sound Of London in their early years. This eponymous EP was originally released in 1990. Over the four tracks you will find some funky 909 work outs, classic house and the bass heavy In The Mind of A Child, which was intended to be released back in the day as a Mental Cube track, but was released under the name Indo Tribe.

The Future Sound Of London
Yage 2019

Yage 2019 is an exciting new Record Store Day release from The Future Sound Of London. Veteran fans of the 90’s rave legends will already know the record’s title track given that it first showed up towards the back end of FSoL’s 1996 LP Dead Cities. Here we see the group taking the original and manipulating it into eleven original tracks. Don’t think of Yage 2019 as a remix album - this is very much a record in its own right.

Humanoid
Built By Humanoid

Before Future Sounds of London, there was Humanoid. Known for their classic acid house single 'Stakker Humanoid', Humanoid will release an album a mere 30 years after they burst onto the scene. Fast, frantic, and beat driven, 'Built By Humanoid' merges the old and new to create an acid monster.

Archived 9

Jumpin' & Pumpin' follow 'Archived 8' with -- you guessed it -- the ninth volume in their ongoing series of unreleased music from the apparently inexhaustible Future Sound Of London archive. 'Archived 9' brings together another dozen tracks, some of which have been reconstructed and embellished upon and mixed to complete a new album of work in its own right, worthy of sitting next to 'Lifeforms' or 'ISDN'. Archived 9 is available on CD.

My Kingdom Re-imagined

The Future Sound Of London, or FSOL to their friends have taken a Michelin-starred chef’s approach to reworking their 1996 track, My Kingdom by offering it up in eight different ways on My Kingdom Re-imagined, moulding it from ambient rock to electronica along the way. The original version of the track features on their Dead Cities album, was based on Vangelis track Rachel’s Song from Bladerunner and even impacted the the top 20. 180g vinyl LP, limited to 200 copies and CD on Jumpin’ & Pumpin’.

Environment Six

Future Sound Of London’s Environments series began in 1993, though without any releases seeing the light of day till 2008. They haven’t stopped generating Environments though, not by a long shot: they now present a pair of new records (released separately) that map out some deep electronic territory with the attention to detail typical of FSOL. Environment Six is released by Jumpin’ & Pumpin’.

The Future Sound Of London
Environments 4

A salad of ambient and drone-like variations from The Future Sound Of London. Environments 4 is another passage through time and space, featuring sonic examinations, forest and urban excursions and eastern drones, percussion and strings. Is it dance music? Is it really the future sound of London? I'll get back to you on that. Out on vinyl LP and CD from Jumpin & Pumpin.

Lifeforms

It's excellent to see such a seminal work still deserving reissue treatment. Future Sound of London's 1994 masterpiece is a timeless collage of synthesised and environmental sounds, standing at the centre of the duo's vast contribution to electronic music history. If you don't already own it, time to make a change.

The Future Sound Of London
Environments 2

The acidic and naturalist IDM duo returned with a follow-up to their record 'Environments' with more eclectic bliss. The Future Sound of London have never been one to stick to their genre tags, and so decided to mess up the whole process with this sequel, offering an hour of music that bended together the archetypes of classical music (string swells, brooding cellos, and a choir, because why not?) with their usual landscape of beats and electronic beard-stroking. These guys have grander ambitions (and probably better writing skills) than James Cameron: 'Environments 2' was one of five entries into the series.

The Future Sound Of London
Environments

Environments has an interesting history to it. It is known as the ‘lost’ Future Sound Of London album, being originally due for release in 1993 but never quite getting out there. Now we can at last hear what we were missing out on: more prime sound from the masters. This was released digitally and on CD a few years ago, but this is the first ever vinyl pressing.
