The Divine Comedy
Promenade

Originally released in 1994, Promenade was the third studio album by Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, delving even further into the classical-influenced stylings that he had begun to explore with Liberation and bearing a loose concept about a couple spending a day at the seaside. It gets a remastered re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with the CD edition including a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.

The Divine Comedy
Liberation

Originally released in 1993, Liberation was technically the second studio album by Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, but the star himself refers to it as their ‘proper debut’ because of wrangles over its predecessor Fanfare For The Comic Muse. Including the understated single ‘Lucy’, it gets a remastered re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with the CD edition including a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.

The Divine Comedy
Regeneration

Regeneration was the album where the Divine Comedy got serious. Neil Hannon put his Noel Coward hat at the door and made a soaring work that could be compared somewhat to Radiohead (perhaps partly due to Nigel Godrich being in the producer's chair). This new edition contains bonus tracks from the era on the double CD and as a download on the gatefold LP version.

The Divine Comedy
Victory for the Comic Muse

Originally released in 2006, Victory For The Comic Muse was the ninth studio album by Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, unique in their catalogue as it was recorded in a little over a fortnight almost entirely from live studio takes and with minimal overdubbing. It gets a remastered re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with the CD edition including a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.

The Divine Comedy
Fin de Siècle

Originally released in 1998, Fin De Siècle was the sixth studio album by Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, which spawned the band’s sole UK Top Ten hit ‘National Express’. It now gets a remastered re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with the CD edition including a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.

The Divine Comedy
Casanova

Originally released in 1997, Casanova was the commercial breakthrough for Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy, housing three UK Top 30 hit singles including ‘Something For The Weekend’.  It now gets a re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with the CD edition including a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.

The Divine Comedy
A Short Album About Love

Originally conceived as a companion to the previous year’s Casanova album and recorded with a 26-piece orchestra post-soundcheck before a show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, A Short Album About Love went on to be regarded by many as The Divine Comedy’s finest hour. It now gets a re-mastered re-issue on vinyl and CD, with the latter coming with a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes plus a DVD titled A Short Film About A Short Album About Love.

The Divine Comedy
Bang Goes The Knighthood

Probably the best of the latterday the Divine Comedy albums, Bang Goes the Knighthood features everything we love about Neil Hannon's music - soaring melodies, beautiful arrangements and a droll lyrical persona. The difference between this and some other the Divine Comedy albums is that it is consistent from start to finish. All killer and an accomplished work from a master craftsman.

The Divine Comedy
Infernal Machines / You'll Never Work In This Town Again

The Divine Comedy’s recent album Office Politics was their highest charting album, which surprises me given their success in the late ‘90s. I guess it shows that Neil Hannon has still got it. Infernal Machines / You’ll Never Work In This Town Again is a double A sided single, with both tracks lifted from Office Politics.

The Divine Comedy
Office Politics

Ever the master of wry observation and pat humour about everyday life, even as he approaches the fourth decade of his career, veteran songwriter Neil Hannon rolls out the 12th the Divine Comedy album, Office Politics. This time, however, Hannon is apparently changing up the chamber-pop formula by introducing synthesisers… stay tuned!

The Duckworth Lewis Method
Sticky Wickets

The Duckworth Lewis Method was a collaboration between the Divine Comedy honcho Neil Hannon and Thomas Walsh of Pugwash where the duo combined their love of the rarely seen bedfellows of cricket and melodic soft rock. Sticky Wickets was their second album of sweetly tuneful cricket-themed musings all of which are better than Howzat by Sherbert.

The Divine Comedy
Foreverland

Foreverland is the first album by The Divine Comedy in six years. Neil Hannon has kept himself busy though: His side project The Duckworth Lewis Method released a second album, He’s composed a choral work which was performed at London’s Royal Festival Hall and even written a musical version of Swallows and Amazons. Foreverland thematically covers a lot of ground from historical figures to the French Foreign Legion and is also historically inaccurate, according to Hannon. However, he also says it’s essentially about life and love.

The Divine Comedy
Absent Friends

Originally released in 2004 and containing the Lauren Laverne-starring ‘Come Home Billy Bird’, Neil Hannon’s eighth The Divine Comedy album gets a re-issue as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations. CD edition comes with a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and alternate takes.
