I'm physically incapable of writing anything negative about one of John Reis' bands, if I try to do it my fingers bend and twist into horrifically unnatural shapes like dodecahedrons and pentangles. After a good long break and dissolving all three-hundred of his old projects the man has returned with The Night Marchers (basically Hot Snakes minus Rick Froberg) and it's no sea change, they sound like a Reis band - full of ace riffs and neo-retro rock stylings. 'Whose Lady R U?' is their most bangin' track so far with some mint 'woo-woo's but I'm more keen on the flip side that ramps up the tempo and the riffing. Trust old Speedo to keep on showing the likes of The Hives how it's done. Limited to 500 and on tasteful orange vinyl!
