What their label says...

"Hasenlove" is the debut musical release ofHamburg visual artist Antonia Leukers. She's afounding member of "Institut Hasenbart", a10-piece artist collective dedicated to ameta-scientific research of hares and relatedsocial, zoological and aesthetical phenomena inreference to the art world and pop culture. As a passionate DIY home-recording artist she hassoldered her own microphones, used cheap toyinstruments, gameboys and minidisc recordings ofkitchen sounds to create her very own bricolagecomic universe. By recycling corny AOR mainstreamRock/Pop songs into some oddly disturbing andwonderfully weird rabbit love songs withnewly-made German lyrics and combining these withsome truly strange original compositions (rangingfrom freeform collage to distorted techno toderanged singer/songwriter stuff), she hascreated a musical love story in 7 parts.Spiritually influenced by (though not reallysounding alike) German "Neue Deutsche Welle"artists such as Der Plan and theatrical andsurreal performance bands like The Residents herversions of popular love songs sound like ateenage/female Andrew Lloyd Webber on bad acid. This 1-sided vinyl-only picture-disc LP is astrictly limited edtion of 300 copies. Both thegorgeous design and ornamental etching on theb-side have been done by fellow Hasenbartfounding member Renate Nikolaus.
