Brian here has always been the Tindersticks man. I've never really got 'em myself. In the absence of the northern twat I'll have to mention this new Tindersticks album called 'The Hungry Saw'. I know in about 10 years I'm totally gonna get Tindersticks and then start hunting around for the Milky Teeth 7". Having said that I'm totally glad they're about and I'd much rather they carry on making music than half of the muck that passes as music these days. Fuck me I sound like my dad..... Anyway think of 'em as a loyal dog while you're sat next to your log fire in your slippers chuffing on your pipe and glugging back bottles of shiraz. They make a timeless classic almost baroque sort of pop which will be loved for generations to come by many. After hearing this album I can't see why you legions of Tindersticks fans wouldn't be satisfied with this new album as it sounds like more of the same. I'm kind of enjoying it as well... It's starting!

What their label says...
Brand new album from the legendary Tindersticks, their first in five
years. Cut to the chase, to the present, to the bone. ‘The Hungry Saw’
- the first Tindersticks album in five years - finds the newly
stripped-down band sounding not only hungry but lean and thrilled
again. The grand melancholy and gentle humour are still abundantly
present, but there’s a renewed energy, an appetite for spontaneity. Frontman
Stuart Staples, buzzing, is looking forward, not back. “You’ve just got
to be true to the things that move you, that drive you to make things”.
